In Q1 2018 alone, the Link11 Security Operation Center (LSOC) registered 12 high-volume attacks. The largest mitigated attack reached a bandwidth of 212 gigabits per second (Gbps). This was possible thanks to SSDP Floods and the new extremely dangerous attack type Memcached reflection. This vector was registered the first time from Link11 on the 25th of February. For these attacks, cybercriminals abuse servers that have installed Memcached.
The following infographic is based on data gathered by the Link11 Security Operation Center.
