Link11 DDoS protection available from DE-CIX DirectCLOUD

The DDoS protection provider Link11 is a partner of DE-CIX DirectCLOUD, which gives hosting providers, ISPs, datacenter operators and other companies fast and simple access to DDoS protection services by Link11.

As a partner of DE-CIX DirectCLOUD, Link11 is able to make its DDoS protection solutions available to all associated ISPs, datacenter operators and cloud service providers in a fast and flexible way. The offerings are also targeted at customers of infrastructure providers, who can also connect with Link11 directly. DDoS protection is available for web servers via DNS forwarding and infrastructure via BGP.

“The partnership with DE-CIX DirectCLOUD will make sure that even more customers will be able to take advantage of cloud-based Link11 DDoS protection – no matter the size of their company, their industry or location. We are looking forward to working with ISPs and datacenter operators who seek the added value of sourcing their cloud services from a single provider”, commented Jens-Philipp Jung, the managing director of Link11.

“Making Link11‘s cloud based DDoS protection solution available at the DE-CIX Apollon platform is a great example of the beauty of interconnection solutions that are possible with DirectCLOUD. We are very happy to see how long-standing partners like Link11 expand their business on our platform, and that we can contribute to the security and simplicity of interconnection to cloud based services. Many of our Internet service providers and data center customers will benefit from it,” adds Harald Kriener, Business Development Manager for DirectCLOUD at DE-CIX.

Link11 has been a DE-CIX member since 2005 and operates the largest German DDoS filter cluster with 3 locations in Frankfurt am Main and other filter sites in the US, Great Britain, Switzerland and the Netherlands. The security solution is accessible from all DE-CIX locations in Germany and from some of DE-CIX’s international locations.

The technical advantage is that a purely virtual connection (virtual local area network, VLAN) takes the place of physical cables. Also, customers can use their own IP addresses, so there is no need for switching mechanisms. DE-CIX DirectCLOUD facilitates the use of cloud services on the administrative level as well. Instead of many individual contracts, a single contract with DE-CIX defines all business relationships.

About DirectCLOUD: The DirectCLOUD service enables Cloud Service Providers (CSPs) to access multiple cloud service providers with one connection. With this, CSPs are able to offer their enterprise customers a variety of cloud solutions – fast, simple and cost-effective. Via the more than 750 networks connected to DE-CIX Frankfurt, more than 26,000 enterprises with own IP address blocks can benefit from this service. Other cloud service providers already on board include Amazon Web Service, DARZ, PFALZKOM | MANET, and Link11.
